BIG BEND SALTWATER CLASSIC

A regional Father’s Day tradition, North Florida’s premier fishing tournament is first and foremost a fundraiser for OAR, the
Organization for Artificial Reefs. All proceeds derived from the event are used to expand and develop a system of artificial reefs in the Northeastern Gulf of Mexico, OAR’s purview of operation. The event began in 1989 with 223 anglers, and each year the tournament has grown. It now attracts over 700 fishermen each year. A rodeo format featuring multiple species in three divisions, the Big Bend Saltwater Classic is hosted by the Carrabelle Boat Club for 2011.
